"Creative Pathways" Mural ribbon cutting ceremony!

This year, K.I.D.S. Afterschool participants at St.Francis Xavier have been working alongside local artist Dario Calcines to bring color to their school walls. By spreading the message  "LEARNING BY DOING", the artwork hopes to promote a youth lifestyle of being active, creative and responsible. On June 9th, Living Classrooms formally unveiled the outdoor mural in a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the school's new addition!

Thank you to the St. Francis Xavier school administration and teachers, the Living Classrooms afterschool staff, Dario Calcines, and the parents and children who participate in this program. Your support, participation and dedication have made this mural project possible.
THANK YOU!!

Camping Adventures 2011!

To end the school year, students from St.Francis Xavier Catholic Academy and Kimball Elementary joined eachother on a weekend camping trip to Point Lookout State Park in Scotland, Maryland. Our camping adventures included swimming in the Potomac River, day and night hikes, a nature scavenger hunt, nature photography, campfire s'mores, lessons on how to test the quality of water, and even clam dissections! It was an incredible way to end a memorable year!!
